About Archambault
Archambault: sailing boats and nothing else!
The legend of boat builder Archambault was born more than 50 years ago when a certain Jean Archambault, a carpenter by profession, decided to become a sailboat builder. In 1976, he dared to embark on laminate construction with the Surprise, destined to become a fun, fast, easy and economical dayboat. A challenge met with flying colours since in the space of just a few months, the Surprise became the talk of the town during the 1977 Paris boat show. 1,800 units have been sold since it was launched - a true best seller!
In 2006, the Archambault shipyard created a department entirely dedicated to the manufacture of composite parts : Aster Composites . Recognized for its high-performance cruising-racing boats, Archambault has won many trophies. The Archambault A40 was voted sailing boat of the year in 2004 and the Archambault A35 in 2007, ensuring the prestige of the brand. In 2008, Archambault reached its peak with 120 sailing boats produced and a turnover of over 8 million euros. Many sailing schools use Archambault sailboats to train their students , which demonstrates the robustness of their units.
