The Archambaud A 35 was released in 2007. This superb Joubert and Nivelt design was specifically designed for the IRC rules. The sailboat has already built up a fine record regatta wins.
However, the A 35 can do much over sail around 3 buoys, and its dual rudder version has been chosen by many competitors in the Trans-quadra, a transatlantic race where this boat has really outdone itself.
The A 35 is built very sturdily using the vacuum infusion technique to guarantee regular sampling. The cockpit is large and leaves plenty of room for manoeuvring. Everything is simple, easy to read and most of the lines lead back round the companionway.
On the wheel steered model, the wheel is made of carbon, has a very large diameter and is mounted on linkage that fits perfectly under the helmsperson's feet, providing the perfect support. Without being an easy boat, the A 35 isn't afraid to go for it and it lengthens its stride as soon as the wind reaches 8 to 10 knots.In "racing-cruising", there is also "cruising" and the Archambaud A 35 has earned its place there too. The interior has just the right amount of wood panelling to make it warm, and 6 people fit comfortably around the table. The bow is occupied by an enclosed bed, while on the port side there is a double cabin, and on the starboard side, a wonderful technical space. A simple, sturdy and decent boat, just like the Surprise from the same shipyard.
