The Northern Comfort 43 is a seaworthy and solid sailboat with a length of 12.95 meters and a width of 4 meters. Built in 2002 by the company Rhebergen and finished by De Koning, this yacht was designed by the well-known Dutch designer Dick Zaal. The hull is made of epoxy with a foam core, which makes for a light but sturdy construction that is oversized. The boat offers a comfortable experience on the open sea, and has previously been used for longer trips to destinations such as Scotland, England, France and Norway.

Inside, the boat offers comfortable accommodation for four, with a spacious dining area, shower, mattresses and electric toilet. The interior has a headroom of 1.95 meters and is equipped with amenities such as a refrigerator, hot-air heating and a hot water system, adding to onboard comfort.

The boat is powered by a Yanmar 56 HP diesel engine with 750 hours of operation. With a fuel consumption of about 3 liters per hour, the engine provides enough power to cruise at a maximum speed of 10 mph. The electrical equipment is extensive and includes a battery charger, inverter, solar panel, shore power and a Fischer Panda generator, along with modern navigation equipment such as radar, GPS, chart plotter and an autopilot. The additional windvane self-steering system makes the boat very suitable for long trips.

In terms of rigging, the yacht has five sails, including a mainsail, genoa and storm jib. The sails are in reasonable condition, but need maintenance. The genoa is equipped with a reefing system, and the mast is made of aluminum. Outside, the boat is equipped with an electric windlass, swim ladder, and a bimini, adding to its comfort and convenience.

Although the boat has several leaks in the windows and the sails are in moderate condition, the engine has been well maintained and all major systems function. For a sailing enthusiast willing to perform maintenance, this yacht offers much potential to shine again in all its glory.
