Description
ASYNJA is a staysail schooner that was completed in the fall of 1990 - registered in 1991.
Design and construction were inspected by the Swedish Maritime Administration.
The hull is built in vessel steel, superstructure, deck and cockpit in stainless steel (4mm hardened steel - fartygstaal).
The deck of the boat is covered with cork material, very easy to maintain and comfortable to walk on.
The boat is ideal for long distance sailing, blue ocean sailing and has sailed most of the way around the world and is suitable for sailing in the Arctic. The boat is equipped with all imaginable equipment for circumnavigation and for living in the boat as a sailing houseboat.
The staysail rig carries four headsails, mainsail and is prepared for spinnaker. Furling sails are original but functional.
The engine is a 6-cylinder Volvo Penta TMD 41A of 150 hp.
The interior / fitting with joinery in American oak. Engine room with workbench, galley, skipper's cabin, midship toilet and shower, saloon, navigation area and 2 guest cabins with two berths each and shared toilet and shower. The bow and stern, which contain stowage spaces, form collision zones that are separated from the rest of the boat by watertight bulkheads.
In the aft cabin there is a Refleks diesel stove and 2x1050W electric heaters in the water heating system. The electric heaters are controlled by a room thermostat in the bow.
The cockpit is protected by a robust metal/Plexiglass windshield and a sprayhood. The cockpit is teak and in good condition. Steering is done with a steering wheel on the pedestal or autopilot or wind rudder.
The windlass and the 10.5 hp bow thruster are also operated from the steering position.
Extensive equipment list and details:
RIGGING
The rigging is French Isomat with two masts standing on the deck.
The shrouds and stays are oversized (12 mm) and made of stainless steel.
All headsails have furling jib arrangements that are operated from the cockpit.
SAILS
All sails have been in use since 1991 with annual maintenance and include:
1 Genoa 150%.
1 Genoa 110%.
2 jibs for high winds
1 mainsail
ENGINES
The main engine is a 6-cyl Volvo Penta 41 A with 150 hp.
The transmission consists of a Borg-Warner Velvet Drive right-angle gear and an Aquadrive flexible clutch with CV joint.
The propeller shaft is made of stainless steel. The propeller drive has a diameter of 40 mm and the propeller is fixed and three-bladed.
The fuel tank is integrated into the keel and is connected to the engine via copper pipes. The fuel passes through a Racor fuel filter with water separation and a fuel pump. The generator is a Kohler 8kW, powered by a Yanmar 3HMFL-K 35hp diesel engine with heat exchanger.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The electrical system is well documented and consists of a battery-based 24 Volt DC unit with a converter that
converter that supplies 12 volts to some components, and a 220 volt AC power supply. All cables are two-pole
and of well-dimensioned marine grade.
24VDC
Provides the main voltage for lighting, refrigerator and freezer, fans, pressurized water pumps, drains, drainage and circulation, and shortwave radio. Connectors on panel in galley, engine room and aft cabin.
12VDC
For VHF, navigation instruments and chart table lighting.
BATTERY BANK
The battery bank contains 4 x 12 volt batteries, maintenance-free and insensitive to tilt in all directions. The batteries are connected in pairs in series to achieve a voltage of 24 volts. The capacity of the battery bank is approx. 520 AH.
CHARGING
Battery charging is done from three sources, via cable from the 220 VAC shore power connection, from the boat's own 220 VAC electrical system, or from an additional generator, 28 VDC, 100 Amp, on the main engine. Charging from shore and from the Kohler generator is done using a Victron 35 charger/voltage converter, which accepts both 50- and 60-period AC.
220 VAC
The AC voltage on board comes from three sources, from the shore power connection, from the boat's own generator and from the
generator and from the battery bank via the voltage converter, which has a continuous capacity of 1300 watts.
PRESSURIZED WATER SYSTEM
The pressurized water system includes hot and cold water with taps in the galley and toilets.
The cold water in the kitchenette is purified in a carbon filter. The pump is silent.
HEATING SYSTEM
The heating system is water-based with radiators in cabins, saloon and galley. The heat source is electric cartridges
2x1050W or Reflex diesel boiler. The electric cartridges are controlled by a room thermostat.
WATER MAKER - Not used today. Unknown condition.
A desalination plant was installed in 1996. It has a capacity of 70 L/hour (not active). Can be brought back into operation by the buyer.
GAS HOLDER
LPG cylinders 2 PC10 in container with remote valve and leak indicator on the aft deck. Gas indicator in the saloon.
WATER AND DIESEL TANKS
4 water tanks are located amidships and have a capacity of 860L.
Diesel tank is part of the keel and holds 1180L.
