About Hardy Marine
The Hardy Marine shipyard has built over 4000 boats since it was founded in 1976, making it Britain's most prolific shipbuilder. When John Hardy founded the shipyard, it produced small motor sailboats, mixed sailboats and motorboats. The success of these models led the company to expand its facility in North Walsham, Norfolk.
Hardy boats are mixed, but not just in terms of propulsion. The Norfolk broads are very close to the workshop and constitute a river site of prime importance. It is in the heart of these interlocked lakes and rivers that the very idea of river tourism was born, a concept that developed there before it was exported, notably to France.
Hardy Marine: boats as safe as they are versatile!
The Hardy 32 was primarily designed to enable English sailors to safely cross the English Channel and navigate French waterways. Ranging from 32 foot to 65 foot, Hardy Marine boats are renowned for their seaworthy qualities and their ability to sail while most others are forced to take shelter. This is testified by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's commission of two 42' boats to train their crews.
Hardy boats featured in the catalogue all have semi-planing hulls, which means that they can come up onto a plane in smooth and rough seas alike.
